Chef Charlie's Wisconsin Cheese Bones

2 cups of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup low-fat cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1/4 cup of water

In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients. Knead the dough on a floured surface. Roll out the dough into 1/2 inch thickness and cut out shapes with a dog bone cookie cutter. Put the cookies on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. When done, the cookies should be firm to the touch. Turn the oven off and leave the cookies in for one to two hours to harden. Yields 40 2-inch cookies.
